Bashkiria population increased by 1555 people in January-May
Natural population growth of Bashkortostan in January-May amounted to 1969 people. Migration balance was negative – by 414 people departed more than arrived. Thus, the total natural and migratory flow of the population was positive and amounted to 1555 people against 177 people in January-May 2013, Bashkortostan Statistics Agency reported in the media.
For five months of 2014 24,670 kids were born in the republic – by five percent more than for the same period of the last year. Positive demographic trends were marked in all cities except Sibay, and in 32 municipalities. During the same period 22,701 people (by 0.6 percent less) died in the region.
Thus, in Bashkortostan births exceed the number of deaths by 8.7 percent (in January-May 2013 – by 2.9 percent). As a whole in the Russian Federation the situation is reverse: the number of deaths exceeds the number of births by 4.5 percent.
In the Volga Federal District, statistics recorded the natural population growth in six regions: Tatarstan (plus 2921 people), Bashkortostan (1969), the Udmurt Republic (1016), the Perm region (234), Mari (160) and the Chuvash Republic (11).
