The head of the republic visited the peasant farm "Velikolepny Straus" (Gorgeous ostrich) in Inzelga village as part of his working trip over Gafuriysky region.
The farm was opened in March last year; the capital investment amounted to three million rubles.
More than 20 ostriches are kept at the farm, already new offspring grows: this year six ostriches were born. Also peacocks, chickens, pearl-hens and over 60 pheasants live at the farm.
According to the head of the peasant farm Alfiya Smirnova, excursions are organized at the farm. Here every day come about 200 people, not only from Gafuriysky region, but also from the surrounding regions and cities.
“You chose the right direction, you are very up-to-date in this activity”, Rustem Khamitov expressed his opinion. “Indeed, thousands of people go to the "Krasnousolsk" sanatorium and you are right to focus on agro-tourism development. You can also keep a lama, kangaroo and a deer here.”
“We hope to get a grant to support new farmers in the amount of 1.5 million rubles. These funds will be directed to the purchasing of farming equipment. Also we are planning to build a new ostrich house and increase the number of fowl to 100. Then we will be able to enter the meat market”, Alfiya Smirnova shared her plans.
