Bashkortostan is named a model Russian region in carrying out the Year of Culture
A district conference on defining and promoting the best practices of the subjects of the Russian Federation in carrying out the Year of Culture was held in the city of Cheboksary.
The Deputy Minister of Culture RF Alla Manilova named Bashkortostan a model Russian region in conducting the Year of Culture, having marked many-sided support rendered by the head of the republic, the press service of the Ministry of Culture RB reports.
At the conference Bashkortostan was represented by a delegation headed by the Minister of Culture RB Amina Shafikova.
In his speech Amina Shafikova mentioned that in Bashkortostan it was paid much attention to the thematic year. The head of the republic signed a decree on grants allocation to support 16 of the most significant image projects in the field of theatre, music, choreography, visual art and cinematography totaling 100 million rubles. Measures were taken to address the most pressing social problems of workers of culture and art – increase of wages and housing provision. Subsidies were allocated from the national budget to equip music schools with new instruments. In summer of 2013 large-scale reconstruction, overhaul and construction of four cultural facilities were launched. Also additional funds were allocated for reconstruction and repair of cultural institutions of the republic and increase in cultural workers payroll expenses.
Culture ministers from Chuvashia, Mari El, Mordovia, Perm region, Ulyanovsk, Nizhny Novgorod region and other regions of the country shared their experience at the plenary session. The conference program provides roundtables, visits of cultural institutions, awarding the best culture and arts workers of the Volga Federal District with certificates of honour of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
