Bashkir athletes won eight medals at the championship in Italy

Athletes from Bashkortostan returned with eight medals from Open Championship in Athletics for visually impaired which was held in Italy, the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports RB informs.

Athletes from seven countries were participants of the competition of "Grand Prix" series. There were five Bashkir athletes as part of the Russian team of 10 people.

According to the results of the competition Andrei Koptev — at 100 and 200 m races, Alexei Labzin — at 100 m races, Elena Pautova – at the women's 1,500 m race and Anna Sorokina at 200 and 400 m became Italian champions. Andrey Koptev won "silver" in the long jump and Alexei Labzin was the second at 200m race. Another Bashkir athlete Dmitry Miroshnichenko won the bronze medal at 400 m.
