Following the primaries United Russia has defined three candidates for presidential elections

According to the results of primaries three candidates were defined from the United Russia for the subsequent nomination to the post of the head of the republic: the Acting President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, Russian State Duma deputy Rafael Mardanshin and the President of the Chamber of Lawyers RB Bulat Yumadilov. The voting was as follows: Rustem Khamitov received 129 votes, Rafael Mardanshin — 41, Bulat Yumadilov — 39.

Total six applications were submitted for participation in the primaries: from the deputy of the State Assembly RB Nikolay Samoilenko, the President of the Chamber of Lawyers RB Bulat Yumadilov, the representative of Bashkortostan in St. Petersburg Rif Sahabutdinov, the Russian State Duma deputy Rafael Mardanshin, the deputy of State Assembly RB Nail Gizatullin and Acting President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov.

During the primaries, candidates presented their programs. After that electors could vote for no more than three candidates. Electors’ structure was formed from members of the party and public associations. 69 representatives of local branches of the party in the republic, as well as 69 members of NGOs with which United Russia has signed cooperation agreements took part in the voting.

The final decision to determine the candidates for the elections of the President of Bashkortostan will be taken by secret ballot at a conference of the regional branch of the United Russia party on June 21.
