In Bashkortostan, as of the beginning of April, 26.3 thousand electronic payment terminals operate – by 50.5 percent more than a year earlier, according to the National Bank RB. There are 5.7 thousand ATMs and payment terminals in the region, which is by 17.1 percent more than at the beginning of April last year. Most ATMs are equipped with a function for goods and services payment.
Development of electronic payment facilities reflected in the statistics of non-cash transactions. In the first quarter of the year 54,1 million operations for 132 billion rubles were held in the republic – accordingly by 30.8 percent and by 16.3 percent more than in the first quarter of 2013. In the total volume of plastic cards operations the share of non-cash transactions during this period has increased from 50 to 60 percent in terms of volume and from 13 to 17 percent — in the amount.
Bashkortostan ranks sixth in Russia by the number of bank cards issued.
