On May 26, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with Sodik Imomov, the Consul General of Tajikistan in Ufa. Today, three-year term of powers of the consulate head expired and he will continue to execute his duties in the city of Dushanbe. The third Secretary of the Consulate Manuchehr Ismatov will fulfill his duties till the appointment of the new head of the diplomatic mission, the press service of the head of the republic informs.
“For three years of my work here, I once again made certain how well we had established multi-faceted communications, interpersonal contacts. They have never stopped. We have quite weighty Bashkir diaspora, there are some public organizations. They occupy high positions in many areas and thus contribute to the development of Tajikistan. For my part I tried to contribute to revival of old connections and formation of new ones. It was managed to do certain things. There are still a lot of plans that are underway. There are examples of investments that were made from Tajikistan or by natives of Tajikistan. Statistically it will be very difficult to trace them, because dual citizenship agreement exists between our two countries. Entrepreneurs actively apply it. Acquiring Russian citizenship, they are already in the legal framework of the Russian Federation”, Sodik Imomov said.
“I believe that there are significant, positive results both for you as the consul-general, and for our republic. We have gained experience communicating with diplomatic structures of foreign countries. We have proved that we can create actually very good conditions”, Khamitov said.
A detailed report of the meeting is available on the official website of the President of Bashkortostan.
