Bashkiria population increased by 965 people in January-March
The overall result of natural population movement and migration in January-March was positive and amounted to 965 people, according to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency. Thus, natural increase amounted to 1.4 thousand people, migration loss — to 435 people.
Statistics records a decrease in rural population and growth in urban one. In rural areas, natural and migration loss was 1063 people, in cities the total population growth amounted to 2028 people.
In January-March 14.47 thousand babies were born in Bashkortostan – by 4.3 percent more than in the same period of 2013. Increase in birth rate was observed in the cities of Ufa, Agidel, Neftekamsk, Octyabrsky, Salavat, Sterlitamak and 26 municipalities.
During the same period of time, 13.07 thousand people died in the republic – by 4.5 percent less than in January-March 2013.
The number of births exceeded the number of deaths by 10.7 percent, which is much more than the comparable last year's figure (1.4 percent). Throughout the country, the situation is opposite: the number of deaths exceeds the number of births by 5 percent. Natural growth in January-March was observed in 36 regions of the country and in six regions of the Volga Federal District.
Migration growth was observed in Ufa, Salavat and 11 municipalities. 12 thousand people left the republic, 11.6 thousand people changed their place of residence to Bashkortostan. About 20 thousand people migrated within the republic.
