The Fourth International Forum "Big Chemistry" to be held on May 29 and 30 in Ufa will be attended by representatives of the USA and Germany. This was said by CCI RB President Yuriy Pustovgarov during a meeting with media representatives.
“This forum is very important for us; it is part of a campaign to promote our petrochemical sector”, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Dmitry Sharonov told reporters.
According to Dmitry Sharonov, this year's key topic is determined by the current political situation, the threat of sanctions. “We try to revise our situation, to understand whether we are ready to continue cooperation with our foreign partners regarding technology and equipment purchase,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
"We carry out the "Big Chemistry" Forum not for the first year already, but now the situation is completely different”, the CCI RB President Yuriy Pustovgarov said. “It has changed for the better for the petrochemical industry, we are lucky — there are sanctions. Bashkiria has a perspective to develop the most powerful petrochemical, machinery and engineering cluster. By the way, in the near future creation of an engineering centre for the needs of "Gazprom" will be discussed.”
Annually about 600 participants submit applications to the forum — industry experts and executives of major Russian companies, heads of regions, official delegations from countries of near and far abroad, scientists.
This year's forum will discuss prospects for the development of the domestic market of Russia oil and gas products. Signing of important agreements is expected. In addition, it is planned to identify potential of infrastructure development centres of petrochemical companies, to explore experience of manufacturing process management of high value added products with participation of governmental and financial institutions.
