In June 22,000 hectares of forest will go under management of the capital of Bashkortostan. This was announced during a briefing session in the City Hall. The head of Ufa administration Irek Yalalov marked that the city would finally bring the forests to the proper state and maintain the order there.
The transition was made possible after the adoption of amendments to the law "On regulation of land relations", proposed by republican parliamentarians. Till this moment the municipality could not dispose of forest plots located in Ufa.
Now the city authorities intend to bring green zones in order and make accomplished places of rest there. Environmentalists, in turn, fear a possible development of forest areas.
