Rustem Khamitov during his press conference on April 28 announced his intention to run for presidency in the future elections in the republic. He took such decision basing on three components, which, in his opinion, each candidate must have: public support, support of the Russian President and the candidate’s desire to work for people.
According to the head of the republic, when all three of these fundamentally important points coincide, a person has the right to run for president.
“In general there is a support of people showed by opinion polls and meetings with people. We have good cooperative relationship with the President of the country. Thirdly, I understand that over the years I have acquired necessary experience; I know and understand the pain points of the republic. I know and understand how to address many issues. And I got rid of some of my impressions of the first, second year of work when it seemed that something could be done faster. Of course, not. In addition, we launched a series of large projects that should be completed and perhaps should be accelerated,” the head of the republic said.
Rustem Khamitov also noted that he would expect worthy opponents.
“In my opinion, any opponents who think of themselves in these categories should fight in these elections. I think that there will be such people,” the head of the republic said.
