Rustem Khamitov participated in the meeting of the Russian Commission for UNESCO
On April 21 in Moscow, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov took part in the meeting of the Russian Commission for UNESCO, devoted to the 60th anniversary of Russia's joining UNESCO, the press service of the head of the region informs. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Russian Federation for UNESCO Affairs Sergei Lavrov, Director-General of UNESCO Irina Bokova, the members of the Russian Commission for UNESCO delivered speeches at the meeting.
As reference. Major UNESCO programs and projects implemented in the Republic of Bashkortostan: the project of "UNESCO Associated Schools", "World Heritage" program by UNESCO, "Man and the Biosphere" program — world network of biosphere reserves of UNESCO, the UNITWIN program. In Bashkortostan, a number of other relevant projects and programs are implemented: "Ufa — UNESCO creative city", "Dialogue of World Cultures ", "Information for Everybody", "Memory of the World", "Inclusive Education" as well as a number of youth and tourism initiatives, such as familiarity with the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Russia and abroad, stimulating and promoting native languages studying — the unique cultural heritage of the peoples of the world and foreign languages studying in order to develop international dialogue and cooperation.
