Environmental volunteer clean-ups are held in Bashkortostan
In Bashkortostan, environmental volunteer clean-ups are going on. As of April 19, about 460 thousand people attended cleaning and landscaping events. During volunteer clean-ups more than 6,7 thousand units of equipment were involved, the press service of the Ministry of Nature and Ecology RB informs.
Participants of clean-ups collected and transported to landfills and dumps about 14 thousand tons of solid household waste.
Works on landscaping are being conducted. Since the beginning of the environmental campaign launched in the republic on April 12, more than five thousand trees and shrubs have been planted.
Republican settlements are cleaned and accomplished by 20 percent.
State inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology as part of administrative commissions checked 393 objects, of which 63 did not meet the requirements of environmental protection legislation. By results of the inspections 45 bodies were brought to administrative responsibility. The total amount of fines imposed on violators of environmental legislation amounted to 131 thousand rubles.
The environmental campaign will run until May 17.
