144 thousand people became participants of volunteer clean-up in Ufa
More than 144 thousand people became participants of a volunteer clean-up (subbotnik) in the Bashkir capital held the last weekend.
Traditionally, it was attended by employees of housing utilities administrations, enterprises and organizations, local residents, as well as students.
As the press service of Ufa administration informs, special attention was paid to a cleanup of watersides, forests and territories within the area of flooding.
According to the department of housing utilities and accomplishment of Ufa administration, over seven thousand cubic metres of waste were transported to a landfill in Cherkassy on April 19.
The area of cleaned street network by subbotnik volunteers exceeded 13.7 million square metres in Ufa. The litter was removed from 13.2 million square metres of local areas and adjacent territories, from 2.6 million square metres of parks and boulevards.
As previously reported, the month-campaign on sanitation, accomplishment and landscaping in Ufa will last until May 25. Next spring volunteer clean-up will be held in Ufa on May 17.
