In Moscow the contest "Russian Citi Foundation Awards in Micro-Entrepreneurship" is summed up for 2013. The awards ceremony was held in the Chamber of Commerce in Russia, with participation of representatives of relevant state regulators, public figures, experts and the business community.
Pavel Bitunov from Zilairsky region of Bashkortostan was among the winners in the nomination "The best environmental initiative and environmental project". An application for his participation in the contest was sent by agricultural credit consumer cooperative "Avantage".
Alexander Prodan from Voronezh region was named "The Best Entrepreneur 2013". The entrepreneur is engaged in selection and cultivating of new species for the Russian central regions, for example, garden blueberry. He also launched a project for processing raw materials.
The main goal of the contest is promoting the best micro-entrepreneurs and the most effective microfinance institutions.
The organizers of this year's competition were the National Partnership of Microfinance Market and the Russian Microfinance Centre with the support of the Citi Fund.
This year the prize fund premiums amounted to 1.3 million rubles. More than 160 applications from micro-entrepreneurs and microfinance organizations were submitted for participation in the competition.
