Bashkiria's foreign trade turnover decreased by 19.4 percent compared to January-March 2013 - Customs
In the first quarter a foreign trade turnover in the region of Bashkortostan customs activity amounted to 495.9 million U.S. dollars, by 19.4 percent less than in January — March 2013.
Exports for this period decreased by 25.9 percent — to 358.4 million dollars, which is explained by the significant decrease in the volume of exports of chemical (48.8 percent) and engineering (26.3 percent) products. Other export positions except textiles showed growth.
The main exports of the republic are chemical products (34.8 percent) and engineering (34.5). 12.6 percent of the exports are mineral products (liquid pyrolysis products), 11.8 percent — metals and their products (hot-rolled bars and rods), 4.4 percent — wood and pulp and paper products (plywood, fiberboard), 1.2 percent — food products (sugar beet pulp and rapeseed meal).
The main exporting companies are JSC "UMPO", JSC "Ufaorgsintez", LLC "Industrial Railway", JSC "KumAPP", JSC "Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant", JSC "Synthesis Rubber" and several others.
The volume of imports in the first quarter increased by 4.6 percent compared to January- March 2013 (137.5 million) due to increased import of engineering products and metals. Food products and wood began to be imported in greater amounts. Other import positions decreased. From abroad the republic imports mainly engineering products (61.3 percent), metals and metal products (23.4), chemical products — additives for diesel fuel (8.2), food products (2.9). The main recipients of imported goods in the first quarter were JSC "Gazprom neftekhim Salavat", LLC "Kronospan Bashkortostan ", LLC "UZDAEWOOAVTO -Ufa", JSC "Poultry Factory "Bashkirskaya" and some other companies.
