Searching groups of Bashkortostan conducted a survey on Lake Bannoe. The operation was organized by the head of the group "Vysota" Vladimir Volkov and scientist Yuri Kravchenko, who assists in detection of burials using devices that detect ground displacement and other changes.
According to some reports, during the Great Patriotic War several reconnaissance units from Germany were air dropped on the territory of the republic. According to the recollections of local residents aircrafts fell in Lake Bannoe and Chebache. Presumably, it was planes of reconnaissance units.
During the search operation it was managed to determine location of a large object on the water bottom. In summer it is planned to go to this place with diving equipment and explore the bottom, according to the Regional Public Fund of Searching Groups of Bashkortostan.
The searching group "Vysota" was created in 2007 in Mezhgoyre. During this time, its members took part in expeditions to Leningrad, Pskov, Tver regions, Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Karelia. They discovered and exhumed the remains of over 200 Red Army soldiers.
