International flights will be temporarily served in the domestic terminal at Ufa airport
From mid-May 2014 international departures will be carried out from the right wing of the domestic terminal, the press service of the Ufa International Airport informs.
The domestic terminal area is 3800 square metres, more than 300 passengers per hour can be served here.
Temporal changes in passenger service occurred because of construction works in the building of the international terminal. According to the project of reconstruction, the international terminal will be a part of a new terminal building with a capacity of 800 people per hour against the current 200. It is expected that works in the new terminal with the area of 16 thousand square metres will be completed before the end of 2014.
After the reconstruction the Ufa international terminal will meet international standards of category "C" IATA (high level of comfort and technology for passengers). The new terminal will have three air bridges capable of servicing all types of aircraft, including Boeing 747 and 777. To the SCO and BRICS Summits Ufa airport taxiways and aprons will be repaired, one of two runways will be renovated. The capital of Bashkortostan will be able to take any super heavy aircraft, such as Boeing 747, Ruslan and Airbus 330 — a special parking apron will be built for them.
The plans includes construction of course-glide path landing complex on the reconstructed second runway which after certification by the ICAO second category will allow making takeoffs and landings without the majority of weather constraints.
