A social project by youth and teenagers centre "Samotsvety" from Kumertau city was among the winners of the international competition and awarded a grant of 500 thousand rubles. This was reported by the Head of information support department of Kumertau administration Elena Vershinina.
Total 2400 projects from 78 Russian regions and 36 CIS countries, as well as Portugal, the USA, the Netherlands and Hong Kong were submitted for the competition of Seraphim Sarovsky Foundation "Orthodox Initiative". The list of winners includes only 325 projects.
Authors of Kumertau project "The Promised Land" Pavel Safonov and Marina Safonova noted that their program was aimed at organization of Orthodox social tourism. They expressed confidence that due to the project the dream of visually impaired children from Kumertau – to visit the capital of Russia would come true.
