Bashkiria replenished Russian "forest" revenues by 265 million rubles in 2013

In 2013, the Ministry of Forestry of Bashkortostan completed fully the main targets, Razhap Nabiullin, the head of the Forestry Ministry, stated today at the final board meeting.

According to him, the region managed to reduce the number of forest fires, to bring them to the number of 60 for a season as a whole, and most importantly — to increase the efficiency of fire extinguishing.

In addition, the percentage of fines collection from violators of forestry regulations reached 40 percent last year. For comparison, on average this figure was 20 percent in the Volga Federal District.

“In 2013 the budget system of the Russian Federation received 265.3 million rubles for use of forests, including 111.5 million directed to the republican budget. This is by 10 million rubles more than in 2012”, the Minister of Forestry of Bashkortostan said.

Meanwhile, as it was noted at the meeting of the board, there are a lot of problems in the forest complex of the republic, which require systemic solutions. This primarily concerns low development of rated wood cutting when only industrial wood is harvested. And in most cases it is not processed and is sold as "round timber" or as standing timber.

Another problem is imperfection of the current legislation in the sphere of forest reserves management, which often results in failure of forest regeneration measures.

Material-technical base of some forest areas is still very poor. There is a shortage of specialized forestry equipment. Now a lot is "kept on eagerness of the forestry workers themselves", the meeting’s participants underlined.
