The situation in the consumer market of Bashkortostan remained stable in 2013 and developed in the framework of the all-Russian and average Volga Federal District trends.
“The retail trade turnover in comparable terms grew by 8.1 percent and amounted to nearly 722 billion rubles”, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee RB on Trade and Consumer Protection Guzel Asylova noted at the final board meeting today. “According to the results of the last year the republic is still among the top ten regions of Russia in absolute terms of retail turnover and moved from the second to the first place in the Volga Federal District.”
In the turnover structure foodstuffs and nonfoods are in almost equal proportions.
However, about 90 percent of turnover in the republic is formed by companies of fixed shop and non-fixed shop trading. And only slightly more than 10 percent of sales are accounted for retail markets and fairs.
