From March 14 to 16, the international cultural and educational project "Imagination" dedicated to the 400th anniversary of cultural relations between Russia and the Netherlands is held in Ufa supported by the Ministry of Culture RB.  In its framework the Dutch music ensemble «Hexagon» from Amsterdam will give a performance at the Organ Hall of the H.Ahmetov’s Bashkir State Philharmonic Society on March 14.

The composition by Modest Mussorgsky "Pictures at an Exhibition" takes the key place in the concert- art program "Imagination". The orchestration of music is specially made by Keĭs Oltheys for the «Hexagon» ensemble. Students of art schools will listen to music by the Russian composer and create their works under its impression. Thus the project is trying to connect the two art forms.

Children from art schools of Bashkortostan are invited to create their own works based on the cycle of piano pieces. Some of the works will be exhibited during the concert itself. Pictures of students from children's art schools from Blagoveschensky, Ilishevsky, Bakalinsky, Karmaskalinsky , Yanaulsky regions, Ufa art school No. 2 and Ufa College of Arts will be displayed on the large screen established at the stage of the Organ Hall of Philharmonic Society. The concert starts at 19 o’clock.

At the end of the tour of Dutch musicians works by young Russian artists will be exhibited on the project platforms in the Netherlands.

Also the «Hexagon» ensemble conducts a competition for young professional artists, participation in which can be taken till September 1, 2014. To participate in the project you should create art works devoted to the cycle of piano pieces by Mussorgsky "Pictures at an Exhibition".
