In Moscow, a meeting of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil in the Russian Federation, Jose Antonio Vallim Guerreiro with Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Salavat Sagitov and the First Deputy Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President RF to Bashkortostan Republic Rustem Vildanov took place.
During the conversation, Salavat Sagitov acquainted Antonio Guerreiro with the socio-economic development of Bashkortostan. In particular, it was emphasized that the growth of the gross regional product is ahead of average indicators and by the results of the year 2013 is 103.1 percent, while foreign direct investment amounted to 240 million dollars, more than 3.5 times higher than in 2012.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil noted that Bashkortostan was a region with a strong infrastructure and powerful industrial potential. The parties discussed prospects of possible cooperation, in particular in the field of engineering, development of cluster light aviation, agriculture and tourism. Also it was discussed a possibility of presentation of socio- economic potential of Bashkortostan at the upcoming BRICS Summit to be held in the Brazilian city of Fortaleza in May 2014.
Antonio Guerreiro said that the BRICS Summit to be conducted in Ufa in 2015 would be a great opportunity to implement mutually beneficial projects.
As the leading expert of the Department of Press and Mass Communications of the ANO "Office Group SCO BRICS "Ufa -2015" Aryamnova Elena informs, the same day, a meeting of Salavat Sagitov with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbul-ogly took place. During the meeting special attention was paid to the analysis and need for growth in trade between the two republics, cooperation in the humanitarian sphere. It was suggested to prepare a cooperation agreement between Azerbaijan and Bashkortostan. The parties agreed to organize a visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to Ufa in the first half of 2014 and a return visit of government and business circles of Bashkortostan to Baku in autumn 2014.
