Irek Yalalov was elected the mayor of the city of Ufa. The decision was taken at the next 29th meeting of the City Council on February 12. 33 of all deputies voted for Irek Yalalov.
At the City Council two more candidates from among those who have passed competitive selection were considered apart from Yrek Yalalov — Vladimir Chernov and Said Zakirov.
Immediately after the vote, the ceremony of the contract signing with the new head of the city was held. The contract was signed by Irek Yalalov and the chairman of Ufa City Council Eugene Semivelichenko. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the State Assembly — Kurultay-RB Konstantin Tolkatchev and the Head of the Presidential Administration of Bashkortostan Sergey Molchanov.
Recall that initially ten candidates were nominated to the post of the head of the city. However, four candidates were withdrawn because of improperly filed documents. The other three failed to pass the examination of the expert committee. As a result, only three candidates were approved for the position of the head of administration.
