Special program of Russian Film Festival in New York was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Rudolf Nureyev
In the framework of the VI Festival of documentary films in New York City a special program dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Rudolf Nureyev was presented, IA «Tatar-inform» reports. The program includes two documentaries devoted to the great dancer: "Rudolf Nureyev. Rebellious Demon" (director — T.Malova) and "Rudolf Nureyev. Farewell, Motherland!"(director — F.Davletshin), as well as an eight-minute video from the personal archive of Nureyev (shown for the first time) and the speech by of the member of the American National Academy of Design S.Gollebakh sharing his memories about the great dancer.
Prior to New York the presentation of the "Rudolf Nureyev. Rebellious Demon" movie took place this autumn, at the end of September, at the Plenipotentiary Office of Bashkortostan Republic under the Russian President in Moscow. In mid-October, the film was shown in Ufa.
The program was of great interest to the American audience, the show in the International Film Tribeca Cinemas was displayed to a full house. Just three days of the festival 24 films of Russian studios and works by directors of the Russian diaspora were shown, including 19 films — participants of the competition program. The festival received a welcome address from the Mayor of New York as one of the top cultural projects of the city.
