State Assembly of Bashkortostan should become more open to the public - the President RB

“Political struggle is a normal attribute of civil society but we must remember about culture of political dialogue” it is said in the annual Address of the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov to the State Assembly — Kurultay RB. He urged deputies to focus their efforts on ensuring high quality of legislative work. Accepted laws should really assist new tendency of improving all aspects of the republican life.

“I believe that the State Assembly should be more open to the public,” said the head of the republic. “The very purpose of the parliament is to be in the midst of social problems, to work together with people.”

The President set a task to increase the degree of deputies participation in general republican affairs, in combating violations in various fields.

“We need parliamentary inquiries and parliamentary committees. Today, there is practically no parliamentary journalism, less specialized columns in newspapers and TV programs about the legislative work. If the parliament does not become an effective instrument for the development of civil democratic society, accessible and transparent to the people, it will not enjoy the confidence among citizens” Rustem Khamitov said.
