More than 600 Bashkir police officers will ensure safety at the Olympics in Sochi
The day before, 653 Bashkir policemen arrived at Krasnodar Territory for service. Throughout the winter they will ensure public order maintenance during the XXII Olympic Winter Games. Among them, there are 41 employees of Extradepartmental Security Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bashkortostan.
All applicants underwent medical and psycho-physiological examination. Moreover, preference was given to those employees who had participated in public order maintenance in Kazan during the Universiade this summer.
In addition, the police officers underwent a training course at Ufa Institute of Law and intensely studied the English language.
Bashkir extra-departmental guards will protect a hydroelectric plant, electric power substation, sewage treatment plants and other critical infrastructure of special importance in Sochi.
Until January 7, police officers will acquaint with affairs, surroundings and objects entrusted to them. After that the guards will take them under their twenty-four-hour protection. They will have 12-hour working day.
