From January to October, 1,855.2 thousand square metres of housing were commissioned in the republic, which is 114.4 percent compared to the same result in 2012, according to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency. For 10 months 13.3 thousand residential buildings were built, or more than 20 thousand apartments. 457 square metres of living space were put into operation per one thousand inhabitants.
In absolute terms Bashkortostan ranks the second in the Volga Federal District conceding to Tatarstan (1,948.2 thousand square metres of housing) and significantly getting ahead of the Nizhny Novgorod region located on the third position (913.1 thousand square meters). Bashkortostan takes the second place in the Volga Federal District also on commissioning of housing per capita.
The share of private contractors in total volume of construction in Bashkortostan is 78.4 percent: for 10 months they have built more than 13,000 of their own houses with total area of 1,454.6 thousand square meters – by 18.5 percent more than in the same period of 2012. Businesses and organizations put into operation 400.6 thousand square metres of housing, of which 20.1 thousand square metres meet the standards of economy class.
