Ten Ufa sports schools received grants of Russian Olympians Foundation

In 2013, the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Ufa City Municipal District organized sports school participation in the competition for federal grants program to support schools of Olympic reserve.

Among the winners there are seven municipal and three republican sports schools that operate in the city. The total amount of grants received amounted to 19.5 million rubles.

The charitable non-profit organization "The Russian Olympians Foundation" was founded in 2005 by the leading Russian businessmen supported by the Administration of the President and the Government of Russia. The foundation activities focus on the development of Russian sport and strengthening the position of our athletes at the Olympic and world championships.

The grant amount for schools which took the first place was 3.5 million rubles, the second place — 2.5 million rubles, the third – 2 mln rubles; prize winners received financial support in the amount of one million rubles.

According to the results of the contest the sports school No. 19 (fencing) and sports school No. 33 (nordic combined) took the first place. The second place was taken by the sports school of modern pentathlon, the third place by the sports school No. 15 (bobsleigh and skeleton), sports school No. 4 (boxing) and the sports school in Alpine skiing.

The prize winners of the contest are: the sports school 1 (speed skating), the sports school "Ufimets" (weightlifting), the sports school of rowing and canoeing, and the sports school of biathlon.

The funds will be used for rental of premises and facilities used for the implementation of the training process, providing sports equipment, inventory and facilities, food at training camps and competitions of members of national teams.
