The deputy of the State Duma from Bashkortostan Republic Irshat Fahritdinov has taken part in the Congress of Peoples of Russia held in Makhachkala. The meeting was organised under the motto «Common destiny, united Russia, united people». Svetlana Smirnova, the Chairman of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia has headed the Congress.
More than one thousand people became participants of the Congress. Visitors from all parts of Russia – from Kaliningrad to the Far East arrived to Dagestan.
For 15 years of its existence the Assembly of Peoples of Russia, having regional branches almost in all subjects of the Russian Federation, has become one of the largest civil society institutes in the country and it successfully carries out a congregative function in the sphere of interethnic peace and consent.
Heads of several federal ministries and departments, delegations of subjects of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the State Duma, Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, prominent scientists, experts in the field of historical studies, state national policy, ethno-confessional relations took part in the Congress.
“Quite meaningful and businesslike talks took place during the meeting, a decision was accepted aimed at providing systematic nature of civil society institutes activity and bringing the state national policy in conformity with modern processes in the sphere of interethnic relations,” Irshat Fahritdinov said.
