The director of Ufa Eye Research Institute Professor Mukharram Bikbov became the diploma winner of XIII Congress of the European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA) - one of Europe’s the most acknowledged ophthalmologic association. He was marked for his contribution to ophthalmology, long-term and fruitful activity directed on development of scientific and clinical cooperation between the East and the West. The diploma and the money award from Universität Tübingen (Germany) were handed him over by the President of Congress EURETINA-2013 Professor Gisbert Richard.
The European symposium has marked work of one more ophthalmologist from Ufa — Guzel Bikbova. The joint report presented by her together with University of Chiba (Japan) with which Ufa Eye Research Institute conducts research activity was awarded the grant for innovative scientific work.
The Congress was held in Hamburg. Annually it gathers more than four thousand ophthalmologists from all over the world. The present forum became the largest in the EURETINA’s history: more than 4,5 thousand retinal experts and researchers from 98 countries arrived at the event. The Russian ophthalmology was represented by delegation of Ufa Eye Research Institute at the Congress. We will note that the EURETINA’s scientific program included five reports from Russia, three of which were presented by scientists from Bashkiria.
