Ufa Planetarium spends the World Space Week

The Ufa Planetarium invites all interested persons to the World Space Week which starts on October 4. This holiday is marked since 2000. It is connected with two major space dates: the first man-made earth's satellite started in the USSR on October 4, 1957 and the outer space treaty come into force on October 10, 1967.

The topic of the World Space Week this year is «Exploring Mars, Discovering Earth».

Thus, as part of the World Space Week on the basis of the Ufa Planetarium a round-table conference: «The Present and the Future of the Ufa Planetarium: Projects and Opinions» will be held in Ufa on October 4.  Ufa townspeople will have «The Big Space Travel: Mars» on October 5. Also these days, educational films about exploration of Mars by mars rovers, discoveries made by Hubble space telescope will be broadcast. A night of street corner astronomy will take place (observing the Moon through a telescope – under condition of clear sky).

As part of the World Space Week the Ufa City Planetarium and «Belskye Prostory» magazine announce a competition of «Martian Chronicles» science-fiction stories among pupils of the secondary educational institutions, devoted to Mars development.

All events have free entrance.
