Farms of Bashkortostan started sugar beet harvesting. As the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB informs, for today the "sweet" harvest season is conducted by farmers of six from 23 sugar beet republican regions.
Now sugar beet is harvested on the area of 595 hectares. While the highest working rates are marked at farmers of Bakalinsky region, who have already cropped 10 percent of sugar beet areas.
At average crop yield of 342 cwts per hectare more than 20,3 thousand tons of sweet root crops are secured in the republic now. Thus the highest crop yield is marked in Blagovarsky region where farmers receive 528 cwts of beet per hectare.
It should be mentioned that under the most moderate forecasts, it is planned to receive 250 cwts of sugar beet per each hectare in the region. Total 55,2 thousand hectares were sowed with sugar beet in Bashkortostan, that is by 1,5 percent more than in 2012.
Because of adverse weather conditions a part of sugar beet crops was lost, therefore republican farmers will have to harvest 52,6 thousand hectares, or 95 percent.
