The Soviet regional court of Ufa has pronounced a sentence regarding the rector of non-state Institution of Higher Education «Ufa Institute of Commerce and Law». The 73-year-old head of the educational institution was found guilty of corrupt business practices.
The court established that he offered a student withdrawn due to academic failure to give him compensation in the sum of 80 thousand rbl. for assisting her in passing credits, examinations and reception of a diploma without actual attending the institute.
During the session of the court the rector pleaded “not guilty”. The court sentenced him to 1,5 million rbl. fine with deprivation of right to occupy executive posts in educational institutions for two years, the press-service of Prosecutor's Office RB informs.
