64 percent of the unemployed in Bashkiria are women

For seven months of 2013 more than 29,5 thousand inhabitants of Bashkortostan are recognised as unemployed. One year ago there was about 32,6 thousand officially registered unemployed in the republic.

As the press-service of Ministry of Labour and Social Protection RB informs, 23,6 thousand people were registered at employment service as of August 1, 2013. Rural residents made 43 percent of them.

In Bashkortostan 64 percent  of unemployed people are women. 20 percent of the unemployed are young people from 16 till 29 years, 13 percent are people of pre-retirement age, eight percent are disabled persons.

It should be marked that half of those who are registered at the republican employment service were dismissed by their personal wish. 22 more percent of the unemployed were dismissed in connection with organisation liquidation, or because of staff reduction.

The level of registered unemployment as a whole over the republic made 1,16 percent from economically active population as of August 1, 2013. In Ufa this indicator is equal 1,17 percent, in other cities — 1,04 percent, in regions — 1,35 percent.

According to the last statistical data, there were more than 1,977 million people of economically active population in Bashkortostan in the second quarter 2013. The level of general unemployment has made 5,2 percent against 4,8 percent in Volga Federal District and 5,4 percent as a whole across Russia.
