The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has held a meeting concerning development of high-speed railway communication. Construction of a high-speed railway Moscow — Kazan is one of scale infrastructural projects declared by the President in June at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. According to the plans the railway should be put into operation in 2018.
Vladimir Putin has suggested thinking about possibility to make regions participants of the project.
“It will allow to balance better the project, will enhance the responsibility of regions for results of work,” he said.
It should be mentioned that the high-speed railway will be laid over the territory of Yanaulsky, Krasnokamsky, Tatyshlinsky regions of Bashkortostan. The lateral branch which will connect the capital of our republic with the high-speed railway will pass through Tatyshlinsky, Baltachevsky, Mishkinsky, Blagoveshchensky, Ufa regions and the city of Ufa.
At the meeting with inhabitants of Yanaulsky region the representative of the State Committee on Transport and Road Facilities Oleg Gilev marked that the new road would essentially differ from the existing one.
“It will be absolutely new railway constructed taking into account all modern technical requirements,” Oleg Gilev said. “Trains will go there with a speed up to 400 km/h, a travel time from us to Moscow will make about six hours. Preliminary length of the highway will make 2100 kilometres, assumed volume of passenger traffic will be from 10 to 13 million people a year.
