Division for struggle against forest fires is created in the Central Military District
In connection with fire hazardous situation in a number of regions of Siberia, Urals, Volga region rapid reaction forces and means in case of emergency is formed in the Central Military District (TSVO) to help local authorities in struggle against fire.
As the press-service of TSVO informs, the forces total more than 2,5 thousand military men and over 250 units of engineering, fire and other equipment. 170 regular fire-prevention divisions with an aggregate number of over four thousand people and about 500 units of equipment are on the alert.
Also the structure of the forces includes nine helicopters MI-8 and one MI-26, equipped with water drain devices VSU-5 and VSU -15 which are capable to dump from 5 to 15 cubic metres of water. Two planes An-12 and An-26 are located in hourly preparedness at Koltsovo (Sverdlovsk Region) and Tolmachevo (Novosibirsk Region) airdromes for search and evacuation of victims.
