Less than 6300 veterans of the Great Patriotic War live in Bashkiria
On the threshold of the coming Victory Day a round-table conference on social and economic problems of war veterans was held in the Regional Public Reception of the Chairman of United Russia party. Leaders of veteran organisations, participants of the Great Patriotic War defined problems which were the most pressing for our veterans.
The head of the reception Rail Asadullin congratulated veterans on the forthcoming holiday and suggested them sharing their ideas.
The Chairman of the Committee of War Veterans RB, Mansur Ahunov offered on the threshold of the holiday together with municipalities to make visits to veterans and to congratulate participants of former battles.
“Today there are less than 6300 veterans of the Great Patriotic War in the republic. It is very small figure. And only one quarter of them can move unassisted. The others are at home,” Mansur Ahunov marked.
He raised one of the pressing issues – availability of medical service to veterans of war. First of all it is connected with necessity for modern military hospital in Ufa. At the meeting questions of repair of habitation for veterans, especially in rural areas were raised also. One more problem is that the confined to beds veterans are afraid to use social workers because of frequent cases of swindle.
All offers received from participants of the meeting, will be formulated and directed to the United Russia’s coordination council.
