In Bashkortostan, thanks to already spent spring volunteer clean-ups (subbotnik), it is collected and taken out at landfills and dumps about 19 thousand tons of waste. More than 9,3 thousand units of specialised equipment were involved in works on cleaning the territories from rubbish these days, the press-service of the republican Ministry of Ecology informs.
During carrying out of ecological volunteer clean-ups solid household waste at landfills and dumps were taken free of charge.
“It was repaired 183 thousand square metres of roads, and also about 19 thousand running metres of fences and facades of buildings by participants of volunteer clean-ups,” Nina Nikandrova, the press-secretary of the Ministry of Nature Management and Ecology RB underlined. “In the republic the quantity of green plantings also increased. Participants of ecological volunteer clean-ups planted in total almost 1300 trees and bushes.”
As a whole across Bashkortostan the share of cleaning and accomplishment of territories reaches 28 percent at present. Ecological volunteer clean-ups will last in the republican territory till May 18.
