Rustem Khamitov and the Ambassador of Germany in Russia Ulrih Brandenburg are ready for economic cooperation development

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has met with the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany in Russia Ulrih Brandenburg, with the participation of representatives of German business community.

The President marked the necessity to renew the direct flights from Germany.

“We are very interested in that large German business comes to our republic. We will create the best conditions for your businessmen,” Rustem Khamitov said. “Today only two representation offices of German companies, 31 joint ventures work in Bashkortostan. By their quantity Germany takes the sixth place among all countries-partners of Bashkortostan. I think that Germany should be on the first place. We consider that activity of business representatives will promote expansion of our cooperation.”

The President of the republic underlined also that “modern, comfortable for business legislation is formed in the region”. The republic gives to investors considerable privileges — «for large investors who involve investments over 125 million euro we give tax holidays for 10 years», Rustem Khamitov marked.

Among priority directions of potential cooperation the President named precision machinery industry, deep processing of grain, manufacture of modern forages for animal industries, development of biotechnologies and radio electronics.

“We arrived here in this structure because there is a great interest to your republic,” Ulrih Brandenburg said. “Bashkortostan is especially interesting to us. There are a lot of possibilities for our companies here.”

Representatives of German business made short presentations of their companies. Offers on cooperation in the sphere of manufacture, ecology, power, consulting and medicine were announced.

Communicating with journalists on termination of the official meeting, Mr. Brandenburg admitted that the republic «is a very dynamic region», with the developed fuel energy sector, mechanical engineering and agriculture.

Following the results of 2012 the foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan and Germany made 534,2 million dollars, and import considerably exceeds export: 436,7 million dollars against 106,5 million dollars, accordingly. From Bashkortostan basically chemical and mineral oil, ferrous metals, aluminium and products from it are exported to Germany. Germany delivers to our republic chemical products, cars, equipment, transport and metal products.
