The industrial production index in Bashkortostan in the first quarter developed at the level of 101,2 percent, Bashkortostan Statistics Agency informs. In March it made 102,6 percent by March, 2012 and 103,8 percent by February of 2013.
Output in January-March increased in pulp-and-paper manufacture, in publishing and polygraphy (131,3 percent by January-March, 2012), in metallurgy (118,7), manufacture of electric equipment and vehicles (106,5 and 108,5 percent, accordingly). Enterprises for mining operations and manufacture of mineral oil finished the quarter with "plus" (102,1 and 102,4 percent), and manufacture of other nonmetallic mineral products and generation and distribution of electric power, gas and water was also increased (100,6 and 101,7 percent).
At the same time textile and sewing manufacture reduced by 12,1 percent, leather and footwear manufacture and chemical manufacture by 4,6 – 7 percent. In processing of wood and manufacture of foodstuff there was a decrease by 1,5 – 3,3 percent, in manufacture of machinery and equipment, rubber and plastic products there was a decrease by 0,1 – 0,2 percent.
As a whole across Russia in the first quarter the industrial production index developed at the level of 100 percent by January-March, 2012. Over the Volga Federal District regions this indicator fluctuates from 82,9 percent in the Chuvash Republic to 106,1 percent in the Nizhniy Novgorod and Ulyanovsk Regions.
