Since April 1, implementation of Small Aircraft Development Program between Volga Federal District (PFO) regions was begun. One of the project main tasks is to increase business activity and, as consequence, additional economic development of the regions.
Implementation of the given program will allow modernising infrastructure of airports of PFO regions. According to prediction estimates, in 2013 the volume of passenger traffic will increase considerably. Thus passengers will pay only 50 percent from air ticket cost, 25 percent will be compensated from the federal budget and 25 percent more — from the regional.
The program will also promote domestic industry for designing and manufacturing of the Russian planes. Besides, during the project realisation new jobs will be created.
The volume of regional aviation transportations for the last 30 years decreased almost in 50 times in PFO. Earlier it made about two million people; today no more than 41 thousand people are transported on regional routes during the year.
Following the results of the project work in the first half of the year 2013 it will be decided to implement or not the offered model in all federal districts of the Russian Federation since 2014.
