The deputy of the State Duma of Russia from Bashkortostan Anvar Makhmutov as a member of the delegation of International Affairs Committee of the State Duma RF has visited Berlin. The visit took place under the invitation of Foreign Policy Committee of the Bundestag of Germany. Joint session of two Committees was held during which issues of cooperation between Germany and the Russian Federation were discussed.
Anvar Makhmutov made a report about Bashkortostan Republic, its economic potential, conditions creating privileges for investment activity in the region, the spent and planned international events.
During the visit parties discussed also cooperation in the field of inter-parliamentary activity, gave estimation to events in the Near East. Opinions concerning ways of extending contacts between the European Union and Russia were expressed; the relation of Russian authorities to the Magnitsky list and to the law on adoption of Russian children by inhabitants of the USA was defined.
Within the limits of the meeting with a core group of the Russian-German forum a dialogue about necessity of mutual contacts development in the field of economics, technologies, power sector and questions pertaining to the humanities was carried out. Visas problem preventing cooperation development was discussed also. It was offered to start with simplification of visa procedures for young people.
Also the meetings with the political director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, the head of SDPG fraction of the Bundestag, the German society of foreign policy took place.
