Russia enters temporary restrictions on seed potato import from the European Union
Since April 1, 2013 Rosselhoznadzor (Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision) enters temporary restrictions on seed potato import into Russia from the European Union countries. The reason of such decision became a failure to submit by the European party of the information provided by provisions of the International standards on phytosanitary measures, — about zones, places and productions sites in the territory of EU member countries, free from quarantine objects for Russia.
As the department of plants quarantine of the Bashkir Directorate of Rosselhoznadzor informs, in 2012 an insignificant quantity of seed potato was imported to the territory of Bashkortostan — only 10 tons. The state farm "Alekseevsky" of the Ufa district became its recipient.
