Livestock number stabilised in Bashkiria
In Bashkortostan, following the results of 2012, in all categories of farms the livestock of the main of cattle and poultry stabilised.
So, in the beginning of 2013, 1,254 million heads of livestock (100 % to the level of last year), 295 thousand pigs (93 %), 125 thousand horses (102 %), 811 thousand sheep and goats (103 %) there were in the republican farms.
As the Minister of Agriculture of Bashkortostan Nikolay Kovalenko underlined at the republican meeting in Miyakinsky region following the results of the branch work for 2012, cattle breeding was an important component of agrarian and industrial complex of the region.
As he said, growth of cattle-breeding production was observed in the republic. As the minister reminded, in 2012 1,710 million tons of milk were produced (104 % to the level of 2011). From them 639 thousand tons of milk (106 % to the level of 2011) were accounted for agricultural enterprises and private farms.
Growth of total milk yield was marked in 46 regions of Bashkortostan last year. On average milk cow productivity in the agricultural enterprises of the republic made 3750 kg for 2012 that was more than the level of 2011 by 280 kg or 8 %.
In 17 regions average yield per each cow exceeded the average across republic level. The five-thousandth boundary was crossed last year in three regions — Chekmagushevsky (5613 kg), Dyurtyulinsky (5247 kg) and Tatyshlinsky (5079 kg).
As the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB reports, in 2013 the increase of milk output was also observed in the republic. In many respects it is connected with sufficient forage reserve.
