On Wednesday, January 30, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov carried out negotiations with the head of VIM-AVIA group of companies Rashid Mursekaev, the press-service of the President RB informs.
Discussion of issues concerning local airlines creation at the Ufa International Airport became a key subject of the meeting.
“Ufa Airport develops quite well,” Rustem Khamitov underlined. “In 2012 it served almost two million passengers. It is good enough result which was reached in absence of local airlines. We understand that if it was, the result would be, certainly, better.”
In the near future it is planned to begin construction of the new international terminal with throughput capacity of 500 people per hour. Also it is planned to construct a ramp for heavy, large planes in the Ufa Airport territory.
“It is very perspective work,” the President of Bashkortostan expressed his confidence. “I think that it will allow us taking the leading positions in the country. Besides, we are engaged in reconstruction of take-off runways, we will connect them among themselves with taxiways. All this will create preconditions for creation of a large airport.”
As the head of VIM-AVIA group of companies Rashid Mursekaev said, active study of further development of intraregional and inter-regional transportations through the Ufa Airport had begun.
The option to increase the authorised capital of «Bashkortostan Air» airlines was discussed in order to increase the aircraft park,” Rashid Mursekaev informed. Besides, the routing network development variants were considered.
Following the results of 2012 "Bashkortostan" airlines, being a part of VIM-AVIA group of companies, transported 494 thousand passengers. It is by 15 % more than in 2011.
According to Rashid Mursekaev, the company gain grew by 54 % in 2012 and the plane park was not increased at that, and remained at the former level.
Besides, last year new activity was developed – rendering of air photography services and processing of aerophotography images for geodesy, cartography and construction.
