Presentation of the charity fund “MIRAS” has taken place in Ufa. New fund is called to contribute to preservation and development of traditional arts and crafts. Many well-known craftsmen, artists and painters gathered to take part in the presentation.

The head of the chair of decorative and applied art and folk arts of the Institute of design and national culture, a member CIS Art Critics Association and UNESCO International Association of historians and art critics Almira Yanbukhtina has commented upon the situation, observed around national arts and crafts in Bashkortostan.

“Frankly speaking the situation looks rather sad” – she said – “Knowledge and skills of our forefathers are gradually lost and establishment of a special fund, called to preserve and develop national arts and crafts, is a good idea. The fund faces hard work ahead and it is necessary to open a crafts center in Ufa to make all its plans come true”.
