Bashkortostan along with the Altay Territory, and also Bryansk, Lipetsk, Tula and Rostov Regions was included into number of regions of the country where in 2013 the increase of areas under sugar beet crops is predicted. Such data are given by the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia.
At the same time in Karachaevo-Circassian Republic, the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, the Voronezh, Ryazan, Tambov and Ulyanovsk Regions reduction of areas under sugar beet crops by more than 10 %, in comparison with 2012 is expected.
On preliminary data the Union of Sugar Producers RF, areas under sugar beet crops in all categories of agricultural enterprises of Russia are estimated at the level of 1,047 million hectares this year. It is by 8,4 % and 19 % less, than in 2012 and 2011, accordingly.
As the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB informs, exact data concerning the area to be sowed by sugar beet in 2013 will be known only in March.
