The Bank of Russia stopped issue of coins of one-kopeck and five-kopeck denomination, which ceased to be in demand. The first Vice-President of the Bank of Russia George Luntovsky informed the journalists about it the day before, RBC reports.
One-kopeck coin manufacture costs 47 kopecks to the Central Bank RF, and five-kopeck coin —69 kopecks. According to Luntovsky, in the future it would be correct to refuse from all coins issuance less than one rouble.
