Demonstration of the documentary “Peace and Solidarity”, shot by Polish producer Iolanthe Kessler in 2005, will take place in the cinema-theater “RODINA” on January 24. The documentary will be demonstrated within the frames of the project “The Laboratory of Political Cinema”, promoted by Bashkir Academy of public service and management under the President RB.
The film is devoted to the events, connected with appearance and activity of the trade-union and public-political movement “Solidarity” and discloses the phenomenon of “Solidarity” in socialist Poland, explaining the influence of this movement upon the course of history in the countries of East Europe and telling about its development during the post-Soviet period.
Traditional discussion of the film with participation of the producer, guests and invited experts, activists of culture and journalists will take place after demonstration, press service of the Academy reports.
Future plans of the Laboratory include the possibility to hold a political film show within the frames of the program of the international conference “Russia and Germany on the historical way: together or apart?”, organized by the Academy of public service and management and friendship society “Bashkortostan-Germany”. The nearest February event will be devoted to the events, connected with the regular anniversary of withdrawal of the Soviet troops from Afghanistan. Demonstration and discussion of the film “The Return of Shuravi” by Sergey Barabanov will take place in “The Laboratory of Political Cinema”.
